Wisconsin man sentenced for selling drugs to informant in Manitowoc County

MANITOWOC, Wis. (WFRV) – A Wisconsin man was sentenced to federal prison on Thursday after being convicted of several drug-related crimes.

According to the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, on April 4, Judge William Griesbach sentenced Frederick W. Scheuers II to nine years and three months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.

Scheuers II was convicted of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

In June of 2023, the Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit, along with the DEA Green Bay Resident Office, initiated an investigation on Scheuers II. Investigators learned he regularly traveled to the Manitowoc Area to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine.

Investigators completed a controlled purchase of cocaine from Scheuers II within the city of Manitowoc, and he was arrested in July for possession of around a half-pound of methamphetamine, one ounce of cocaine, as well as THC products and drug paraphernalia.

Manitowoc County Sheriff Dan Hartwig said, “This investigation exemplifies the continued joint effort between the Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the United States Attorney’s Office- Eastern District of Wisconsin for their continued efforts to combat our local drug issues.”
