GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Perhaps nobody will have more fun this weekend in Bellin Run events than the athletes in the ‘Triumph Mile.’
For 14 years it’s been part of the pre ‘Bellin Run’ activities on race weekend. It gives people with disabilities and special needs a chance to experience racing and getting cheered on when they cross the finish line.
We’re told that about 150 people participated in the ‘Triumph Mile’ this year including four professional runners who will compete in the ‘Bellin Run’ on Saturday. They were Jared Ward, Amy Davis-Green, JP Flavin, and Stephanie Bruce.
Fridays on the Fox returns to downtown Green Bay with live music kick-off at Hagemeister Park
“Usually you’re used to just doing a couple of meetings in a hotel, hanging out, just lying in a hotel bed, but it’s much more inspiring to be here with Team Triumph just running around and seeing the fun they’re having,” JP Flavin told Local 5 News.
The gun goes off for the 49th annual Bellin Run on Saturday at 8 a.m. For more information about the race, please click here.
