Three finalists named for Neenah’s superintendent position

NEENAH, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials with the Neenah Joint School District Board of Education announced on Monday the names of the three finalists for the superintendent position.

According to a release, the three finalists, Steve Harrison, Michael McMahon, and Tine Owen-Moore, were all selected from a pool of qualified candidates and through an initial interview process. Each finalist is expected to spend a day in the district during the week of March 25.

Harrison, who is the Assistant Superintendent for Assessment Curriculum and Instruction for the Appleton Area School District, will visit Neenah on Monday, March 25. He has worked in Appleton since 2015 and has been in his current position for the last five years.

McMahon, who is the Director of Teacher and Student for the Grafton School District, will visit Neenah on Tuesday, March 26. Once a fourth-grade teacher, McMahon is now in his third year in his current position following a six-year span of being the principal at Woodview Elementary School.

Owen-Moore, the Superintendent of the School District of Cudahy, will visit Neenah on Wednesday, March 27. She has been the superintendent in Cudahy for the last four years and has previously worked with the Chicago International Charter School before becoming the founder and school leader of The Alliance School of Milwaukee.

During their visits, each candidate will get to tour the high school, the middle school, and an elementary school while also meeting with other administrators and high school students.

All staff members are being invited by school officials to meet each candidate the day they visit from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. in the high school’s Performing Arts Center. Community members will be able to meet each candidate on the day of their visit from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at the Neenah Middle School inside Pickard Auditorium.

Feedback from all participants will be collected and shared with the board prior to each candidate’s final interview on April 8. The hiring of the new superintendent is expected to be finalized and announced by April 15.

The candidate chosen to be the superintendent will replace the current superintendent, Mary Pfeiffer, who will be retiring in June after being in her role for the last 15 years.
