Kaukauna softball completes perfect season to win D1 State Championship

(WFRV) – The Kaukauna softball program capped off a perfect season winning the Division One State Championship defeating Kenosha Bradford 1-0 on Saturday evening.

Despite striking out 18 times at the plate, the Galloping Ghosts’ lone hit in the game came in the fourth inning when Lilly Boyle hit an RBI double scoring senior Karly Meredith to take the lead. Great defense and fantastic pitching from Virginia commit Meredith on the mound (7 innings pitched, 5 hits, 0 runs, and 4 strikeouts) helped power Kaukauna to its fourth state title in the last five years.

The Galloping Ghosts finished the season with a 28-0 record.
