Juveniles steal vehicle and lead 6+ mile pursuit in Wisconsin, loaded handgun found

CUDAHY, Wis. (WFRV) – Three juveniles were taken into custody after allegedly leading authorities on a pursuit that lasted more than six miles with a stolen vehicle.

According to the Cudahy Police Department, officers responded to a theft complaint in the 3800 block of East Layton Avenue at around 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

The caller provided a description of the suspects and the vehicle they were driving. Officials quickly located the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

The driver instead fled, leading officers on a chase that lasted more than six miles through the cities of Cudahy, St. Francis, and Milwaukee, where the vehicle eventually crashed.

The occupants of the vehicle led officers on a foot pursuit in the area of 6th Street and Beecher Street. Three Milwaukee juveniles were eventually arrested.

The vehicle was later found to have been stolen from Milwaukee, and inside, officers also found a loaded .357 caliber handgun.

Cudahy Police say the incident is still under investigation, and charges will be forwarded to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office later this week.
