GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Comedian Jerry Seinfeld was back in Green Bay this weekend and checked out the local scene ahead of his stand-up show at the Weidner Center.
His first stop was the popular brunch spot in downtown Green Bay, The Creamery, and the server who waited on Seinfeld was in awe.
“He is by far the biggest celebrity we’ve ever had here and the biggest celebrity that I’ve ever waited on,” said Kayla Sell, a server at The Creamery. “It was really neat, but I had to tell myself it was just another table with normal people.”
According to the General Manager, after ordering oatmeal, eggs, a yogurt parfait, and a coffee, Seinfeld lingered for over an hour, even taking the time to pose for a photo with him and the owner.
“He watched the show when it aired when it first came out, so it was just like a big deal for him, so he came here right away Saturday morning, and we waited for Jerry to finish up his meal, and we got a quick picture of him outside,” explained General Manager Jim Jansen.
But The Creamery wasn’t the only place Seinfeld made a surprise appearance at.
As a comic book and Superman super fan, he popped into Powers Comics in Ashwaubenon to browse their large comic book selection, and the owner couldn’t believe his eyes.
“One of my customers whispered to me, ‘Jerry Seinfeld just walked through your door,’ and I said, ‘No, no, he didn’t,'” Dave Powers explained. “But sure enough, Jerry came in with a baseball hat on and sunglasses, and he was with a friend, so the two of them went immediately over to our old DC comic book session. He was looking for a specific old Superman comic from the sixties, and unfortunately, we didn’t have it, but it was still a great interaction!”

In fact, Powers said nothing will ever come close to meeting the comedy legend.
“Seinfeld’s the best comedy show of all time, in my opinion, so it was fantastic meeting him, and then yes, I got a picture of him because my wife asked if I could get a picture with him, and he said sure,” said Powers. “But the best part about it was when we went out there to ask what he was looking for, he said, ‘Well, I’m a comic looking for a comic’ with his classic Seinfeld smirk.”
