Green Bay men’s basketball looks onward, not in the past after tough first season under Doug Gottlieb

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – After a challenging 4-28 campaign to open the Doug Gottlieb era, the Green Bay men’s basketball program is turning the page and looking toward brighter days.

Like many college teams navigating the modern landscape, the Phoenix underwent significant roster turnover via the transfer portal.

Green Bay women’s basketball excited about incoming talent

Ten players from the 2024–25 roster have departed—either through graduation or transfer—prompting a busy offseason for Gottlieb and his staff.

Incoming players:

  • Shelton Williams-Dryden (West Georgia)
  • Rob Stroud (Division II)
  • Keegan Van Kauwenberg (Kaukauna High School)
  • Lachlan Crate (NBL – Australia)

Green Bay will begin the 2025–26 season on the road against powerhouse Kansas on Monday, Nov. 3.
