64-year-old Oconto man killed in crash on U.S. Highway 41

LITTLE RIVER, Wis. (WFRV) – A 64-year-old man from Oconto is dead following a two-vehicle crash Friday morning on U.S. Highway 41 in Oconto County.

According to the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred near County Highway W in the Town of Little River and involved a pickup truck and a passenger car.

Deputies arrived to find the passenger vehicle heavily damaged and the pickup truck overturned in the median.

A preliminary investigation determined the pickup truck had just turned south onto the highway when it was rear-ended by the car, driven by a 39-year-old man from Denmark. The collision forced both vehicles into the median.

The driver of the pickup truck died from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the car was taken to a nearby hospital. His condition is unknown.

The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office are conducting an ongoing criminal investigation. No further information is being released at this time.
