Repeat offender in Wisconsin sentenced to 25 years in prison for attempted sexual exploitation of a child

(WFRV) – U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, Gregory J. Haanstad announced on Monday that a 41-year-old man was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for attempting to exploit a child sexually.

Court records show that David Fuchs, formerly of Janesville had started conversations with an undercover officer from the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office, who was posing online as a 12-year-old girl.

Fuchs reportedly described his desire to have sex with the ‘child,’ sending numerous explicit images and requesting them in return. He explained that he was going to teach the girl to have sex, and then planned to meet with her at a plaza near Madison.

On March 15, he arrived with the intention of meeting with a 12-year-old girl, but was arrested by the United States Marshals Service. Court records also showed that the same undercover officer talked to Fuchs with a different undercover identity. He also talked to other undercover officers posing as underage girls.

Fuchs is registered as a sex offender as he has prior convictions of attempted sexual assault and sexual assault of an intoxicated victim.
