WAYNE, Wis. (WFRV) – A unique and more lighthearted call to deputies in Wisconsin resulted in the reunion of a farmer and his runaway pig.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to a call around 7:32 a.m. on May 24 regarding an animal at large in a subdivision.

A deputy arrived and found a farmer trying to corral a pig that had wandered roughly 700 feet from home. The post said the pig went ‘absent without official leave’ or ‘AWOL.’
A brief pursuit through the subdivision, leading a deputy to lasso the pig; however, the pig was ‘clearly unimpressed,’ the post joked, as it went into a ditch while deputies pondered their next plan.

Following ‘strategic negotiations,’ deputies and the farmer were able to rope the feisty hog and securely get it into a construction bulldozer’s shovel.
The pig was safely returned home, and deputies got to share a fun story.
