(WFRV) – It’s boots, bags and bundles of inspiration at a fun event this weekend benefiting BEAMING Inc.
In this segment, Katie Samuelson, CEO of BEAMING Inc., introduced the concept behind the organization, which facilitates equine-assisted services for children, senior citizens with Alzheimer’s or dementia, veterans, children at risk and more.
Samuelson explained that BEAMING hosts a variety of camps throughout the year and discussed the upcoming Boots & Bags Luncheon event, which will feature raffle prizes and a parade of horses.
She also shared what it means for someone going through a difficult time to visit BEAMING, emphasizing the deep connection that can be made between a person and a horse.
Clinical Director Dr. Janet Hagen discussed what patients can experience when visiting BEAMING. Hagen explained that her role in equine-assisted learning differs from adaptive riding because it focuses entirely on groundwork and shared how rewarding it has been working with the program.
Dr. Lance Fox, DVM, the guest speaker for the upcoming Boots & Bags Luncheon, discussed his story of determination in successfully scaling Mount Everest and explained what drove him to accomplish that goal.
Fox also talked about turning his climb into a book, sharing his journey and his excitement to be part of the upcoming event.
The Boots & Bags Luncheon is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at BEAMING Equine-Assisted Services, located at 2692 County Road GG in Neenah.
