GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – If you have ever gone into The Pancake Place, you’ve been greeted with a smile and an enthusiastic “Hello!” before getting greeted with a water and a cup of coffee.
This type of hospitality is what many have experienced for the last 30 years.

“We really try to make sure that they feel like family when they come to our establishment,” said Theresa Barlament, Owner of The Pancake Place, “We remember their names, we remember what they drink, we remember what they like to eat.”
Barlament has had long-standing roots with the restaurant. She served as a waitress during her teen years, before coming back and becoming the owner in the summer of 2007.
It’s something that she would do over and over again.
“I stopped in and said if you ever think about selling, that was in March, and I took over in June of 2007, so I had known the business, and I had run it for them, I worked a Sunday morning just to make sure that I wanted to continue on this realm, and it was like riding a bike,” said Barlament. “I absolutely loved it.”
Back in the kitchen, pancake batter is made into dozens of bowls, and hundreds of eggs are cracked each day.
It’s where long-standing tradition is served, one pancake at a time.
“Our pancakes are plate size and are a half inch thick, and we have not changed that recipe all 40 plus years that we have been in business,” said Barlament. “Why change a really good thing? We have added things to the menu; our stuffed hash browns are a guest favorite.”
And it’s more than just the pancakes, eggs, and hashbrowns. It’s the memories that are made, created for families that call The Pancake Place home for gatherings.
“The foods so good, and everyone is friendly, we feel welcome, we have only been in the Green Bay area for a year and a half, and we always feel like home here,” said Terry Kondracsek, a regular from Denmark.
The Pancake Place has seen its fair share of celebrities, including Packers Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers, but also Hollywood celebrities Charlie Sheen, Justin Timberlake, and Jessica Beil.
But it always comes back to the locals, who support The Pancake Place to help it continue to thrive in Green Bay.

“The food is always good, they always do it the way we ask, and people always stop by to talk to us even if they aren’t waiting on us,” said Kondracsek.
The Pancake Place is open from 5 a.m to 7 p.m. They have won 16 Best Breakfast awards, and their most popular dish is their chocolate chip pancakes.
