When officers arrived, the suspect — identified as Andres Casas — had fled the scene. Authorities later established probable cause to arrest Casas on multiple domestic violence-related charges and located him at a residence near 50th Street and 14th Avenue.
While attempting to take Casas into custody, officials say he fired shots toward officers. Casas remained inside the residence as officers worked to contain the situation and pursue a peaceful resolution.
Authorities utilized multiple resources over nearly eight hours in an effort to have Casas surrender peacefully.
Police say Casas eventually exited the home through a window. As officers attempted to take him into custody, a six-year veteran of the Kenosha Police Department discharged their firearm, striking Casas.
