GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A local business in Green Bay helped keep physical music alive this weekend as it joined in on Saturday’s ‘Record Store Day.’
Record Store Day began in 2008 as a way to support local record stores and bring fans back into shops across the country for exclusive releases, live performances, and limited edition vinyl.
In Green Bay, Rock ‘N Roll Land on Military Avenue joined in on the day’s festivities, celebrating with local music fans who said the experience is much more than just simply buying records.
I think it brings the people together. You can meet people. We host listening events throughout the year, and you watch these little groups, and by the end of the listening party, they’re all one group. Everyone comes out of their shell, people together, meet someone who likes exactly the same music you do, you have so much in common right off the bat, without text chat, you can meet someone face-to-face at a record store, ya know.

Record Store Day has now grown into a nationwide celebration of music for collectors and casual listeners alike.
