GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The sport of girls’ flag football is quickly becoming more popular, and on Saturday, the Green Bay Packers hosted an event to continue to help the game grow.

Inside the Don Hutson Center, the Packers hosted their 4th annual ‘Girls Flag Open,’ where the team invited 11 high school girls’ flag football teams throughout Wisconsin to attend and be a part of a full day of competition.
With girls’ flag being such a new sport in our state, to be able to provide these really unique experiences for these girls and let them get inside and compete where the players who play on Sunday is just a really special thing, so we’re excited to be able to provide this opportunity.
Ryan Fencl, Packers Football Outreach Manager
The day capped off with round robin-style matchups, followed by a championship bracket, and a celebration of all participating teams.
