APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – The Appleton Police Department has released its 2025 Annual Report, detailing a productive and community-focused year in which officers responded to more than 65,000 calls for service.
Over 2025, and the thousands of calls for service, officers with Appleton PD continued to drive measurable reductions in crime, the report notes.
Over the past five years, person crimes have declined nearly 19%, property crimes have dropped more than 40%, and the city recorded zero homicides in 2025.

Throughout 2025, the Department also conducted 13,609 traffic stops and responded to 1,811 vehicle crashes. “Traffic safety remained a top priority, and the department’s proactive approach, including strong OWI enforcement, contributed to safer roadways,” an Appleton Police Department release states.
2025 also saw an increase in the use of technology within Appleton PD, especially drones.
“The drone program logged hundreds of aerial and ground deployments during patrol responses and special events,” the release continued. “Virtual reality and AI-based training tools allowed large numbers of officers to move efficiently through interactive training scenarios.”

“This past year reflects a department that is not only busy – but focused, innovative, and deeply committed to the people we serve,” said Chief Polly Olson.
