OCONTO FALLS, Wis. (WFRV) – A former teacher in Oconto Falls who is named in a federal lawsuit alleging sexual misconduct against the school district has surrendered his teaching license in Wisconsin.
According to a release from Larry Disparti of Disparti Law Group, David Heisel surrendered his teaching license in the State of Wisconsin.

The release included the following statement from Disparti:
“This case is about driving meaningful reform and making our schools safer for every student who walks through their doors. We are encouraged that David Heisel has surrendered his teaching license in the State of Wisconsin—but this is only the beginning.
More must be done to ensure our schools are truly safe. We commend the courage of the victims who came forward to speak out. It has not been easy, yet they have remained steadfast in their pursuit of accountability and safer schools for all.”

Heisel reportedly surrendered it as of March 31.
