WAUPACA, Wis. (WFRV) – Police in Waupaca are warning the public of a rock blasting operation set to take place on Monday.
According to a release from the Waupaca Police Department, officers are notifying the public that crews discovered a large granite rock at a construction site near the corner of West Fulton Street and Hilcrest Drive.
Just after 9:00 a.m., police announced that rock blasting operations to safely remove the large granite will take place within the hour.

Crews have notified surrounding businesses, and the traffic on West Fulton Street and Hilcrest Drive is not expected to be affected by the rock blasting operation.
While the construction crews will attempt to muffle the sounds of the blasting, residents and nearby businesses should be aware that they may hear a loud noise at the time of the blast.
