BERGEN, Wis. (WFRV) – A 40-year-old man in western Wisconsin was arrested on Monday evening after several weeks of investigation into an animal cruelty incident.
According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, 40-year-old Marvin Keim of Stoddard was arrested as a result of the investigation, which began around March 2.

The investigation stems from an Australian Shepherd that got loose from a home near Stoddard in Bergen. The dog returned home and it was determined that the dog had been castrated without the owner’s consent, prompting veterinary treatment.
Officials say that a suspect had not yet been identified until recently, with new evidence arising that identified Keim as the suspect, who was arrested early Monday evening.
Keim was released from court on a $1,000 signature bond, and officials say he is cooperating with the investigation. The dog has fully recovered.
