FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials say 100 employees will soon be without a job as Wells Vehicle Electronics is set to shut down its Fond du Lac facilities.
According to a WARN letter submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Wells Vehicle Electronics is conducting layoffs and shutting down a manufacturing facility on 385 West Rolling Meadows Drive and its supporting warehouse facility on 420 Trowbridge Drive.

Officials with Wells Vehicle Electronics say the layoffs come due to circumstances out of their control following the sale and subsequent closure of the Fond du Lac manufacturing facility.
100 employees are expected to be affected by these layoffs and permanent operational shutdown, with the expected date of the first separation being on June 2, 2026. Officials say they expect the following job titles to be eliminated by March 2027:

It is important to clarify that Wells, as a company based in Fond du Lac, is not closing. The impact pertains specifically to one of our divisions, and unfortunately, is expected to affect approximately 100 valued employees. We recognize the significance of this situation and want to assure everyone that Wells is committed to supporting those impacted. We will actively work to place these employees in other positions within Wells wherever possible.

Officials add that some employees at these Fond du Lac facilities are represented by a union. At this time, “bumping” rights are said to not exist.
