GRAND CHUTE, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials in Grand Chute say no one was hurt after a semi-truck caught on fire following a single-vehicle crash Monday morning on I-41 North.
According to a release from the Grand Chute Fire Department, Crews responded just before 7:10 a.m. to I-41 North near Highway 15 for reports of a semi-truck that had crashed and caught on fire.

Upon arrival, officials say the semi-truck was on the shoulder of the interstate with the tractor fully engulfed in flames that were quickly extending to the trailer.
Additional aid was called in as Grand Chute firefighters quickly worked to bring the fire under control. The conditions of the incident improved more rapidly than expected, leading to the request for additional aid to be canceled.

I-41 northbound was closed for several hours as crews worked to investigate the incident, as well as taking care of fire suppression, overhaul operations, and roadway cleanup.
No one was hurt in the incident as the driver of the semi-truck was able to exit the truck safely. The fire was said to have started after the semi-truck blew a tire and crashed into the construction barrier.
