MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Police in Wisconsin are investigating a shooting incident that sent a 16-year-old to the hospital early Saturday morning, authorities say.
According to a release from the Madison Police Department, officers responded at 3:32 a.m. to the 100 block of Langdon Street for reports of someone suffering from a gunshot wound.
Once on scene, officers found a 16-year-old who had a gunshot wound in their forearm. Responding officers immediately set up a perimeter and used a drone to search the area.

Using the drone, police found two people who were believed to have left the scene and were hiding near the lake. The two individuals were then arrested.
A man was said to be found hiding in the lake and admitted to being in possession of a firearm. Officers were able to get the man safely out of the lake and secure the gun.
At this time, the shooting is considered to be an accident and there is no additional threat to the community. The injured 16-year-old was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
No other information is available and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
