APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – Officers, along with the City of Appleton, are warning residents about a recent email scam that is claiming to be from the local government, asking victims for payment.
A release from the Appleton Police Department claims that these fraudulent emails aim to trick people into making payments under the claim of ‘official city business.’

- Verify Information
- If an email seems suspicious, contact the city government directly using the contact information found on the city’s website.
