KAUKAUNA, Wis. (WFRV) – Women were the focus of a career fair in Kaukauna Tuesday night as demonstrators hoped to get more women interested in the pipes trade industry.

Plumbers and Steamfitters UA Local 400 hosted the ‘4 Ways forward’ event, which featured a question-and-answer session along with demonstrations of some of the skills that could be learned by women who choose to pursue this type of career.
The women is very undertapped and underserved and I don’t know if it’s a perception about it but we currently have 3 or four percent of our membership are women and we want that to be much much higher.

Organizers add that a six-figure salary potential, a debt-free education, and career stability are just some of the advantages women can have in choosing to pursue a career in the trades.
