The latest northeast Wisconsin weather forecast from Storm Team 5…
Another nice, false-spring day out there Thursday with some areas of sunshine, light winds, and mild weather in the 40s! Clouds over the north will hold temperatures in the 30s. Consider this day “calm before the storm” as our next system rolls in after 10pm this evening into Friday.
Overnight into Friday, our area will be split with frozen and liquid precipitation, favoring rain to the east (by Lake Michigan), and favoring more snow west of the Fox Cities. Green Bay and Appleton will be in the middle with a rain/snow mix that will make a transition to mainly snow early Friday. Roads could be slippery to start the day tomorrow, especially closer to central Wisconsin. Other communities will see wet pavement off to work and school Friday.
Snow accumulations could approach 3″ or more west of the Fox Cities over to central Wisconsin where it will snow longer. 1-3″ of wet, heavy or slushy snow is the anticipated for the northwoods and Fox River Valley. Under 1″ or very little snow whatsoever for the entire Lake Michigan shoreline as the forecast brings rain in the morning and only switches to snow for a little while later in the day.
