According to a criminal complaint obtained by WFRV, 29-year-old Robert Chilcote is charged with first-degree intentional homicide.
Gabriella was last seen on February 4.
The criminal complaint said both Robert and Gabriella worked together and were in a relationship.
On February 5, authorities spoke with Gabriella’s mother, who said she had not heard from her daughter. She said both Robert and Gabriella left the residence to get juice, and she never returned.
However, Robert reportedly came back to the residence and said he and Gabriella argued. He was reportedly grabbing all of his stuff out of the residence.
The mother told authorities that Robert had a gun at the residence.
Robert was seen on camera arriving at his job after Gabriella was last seen. He quit his job for ‘personal reasons’ that same shift, the complaint said.
On February 5, around 3:15 p.m., authorities in Minnesota saw Robert’s car and tried to pull him over. Robert allegedly fled in his car and was going over 100 mph while driving recklessly.
He ended up crashing into a snowbank and was taken into custody. Authorities found a loaded AR15 style rifle, three pistols, a shotgun and a lot of ammunition in his vehicle.

On February 9, Robert talked via phone to authorities in Marinette. He allegedly told authorities ‘it was an accident’.
Over the phone, he said Gabriella was in Michigan and that he put her in the woods, the complaint said. Robert said they were arguing in the car, and he tried to scare her with the gun, and it went off.
Robert told authorities she was bleeding, and he was scared and panicking. He ended up allegedly dragging her into the woods.
He was then asked if he went to work after this, to which he said yes. Robert also said he wasn’t thinking clearly, according to the complaint.
On February 10, authorities searched the area Robert described and found two human feet sticking up out of the snow.
An autopsy determined that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.
Robert is charged with:
- First degree intentional homicide
- Felony
- Up to life in prison
Court records show Robert was officially charged on February 6, and does not have a next court date scheduled. An arrest warrant was authorized.
