FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) — The Fond du Lac Police Department has welcomed a new K9 member to its team.
K9 Hiro, a German shepherd imported from the Czech Republic in 2025, recently completed an intensive five-week training program at Steinig Tal K9 Police Academy.

According to the department, Hiro earned certification in tracking, handler protection, narcotics detection, article searches and obedience. He is now partnered with Officer Delveaux, and the newly certified K9 team is set to begin patrol duties Saturday afternoon.

Police say K9 Hiro was made possible through the generosity of an anonymous donor.
“We are deeply grateful for this gift and the trust placed in our department and our mission,” the Fond du Lac Police Department said in a statement.
