MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) β One man is now in custody following a home invasion and armed robbery incident in Wisconsin on Tuesday night.
According to a release from the Madison Police Department, officers responded at 10:58 p.m. to a home on the 1300 block of Ruskin Street after a neighbor called 911 to report a disturbance involving an armed man.

Upon arrival, officials say a woman opened a door and ran from the home screaming, βheβs got a gun.β Police then entered the home, detaining the man inside while also finding a firearm in the process.
Officers say the man broke into the home, demanded money from the victim, as well as her phone, making her unable to call for help.
The man and woman were said to be known to each other, and the woman had visible injuries. A child was home at the time of the incident but was not hurt.
Police arrested and booked 32-year-old Adam Brooks into the Dane County Jail on the following charges:
- Disorderly conduct while armed
- False imprisonment
- Battery
- 1st-degree recklessly endangering safety
- Armed robbery
- Burglary
