NEW YORK (WPIX) – “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie and her two siblings posted a video Wednesday on Instagram directly addressing whomever might have their mother, and pleading for her safe return.
The heartfelt message also spoke to the possibility of ransom notes that multiple media organizations, including TMZ and at least two Arizona television news stations, purportedly received on Tuesday and handed to investigators.
The family’s statement reads in part: “The light is missing from our lives. Nancy is our mother. We are her children. She is our beacon… she is 84 years old. Her health, her heart, is fragile. She lives in constant pain. She is without any medicine; she needs it to survive.”

The family sent a plea to potential kidnappers, while also acknowledging that voices and images can easily be manipulated. “We need to know, without a doubt, that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you, and we are ready to listen. Please reach out to us.”
The video ended with the children expressing their love for their mother and encouraging her to stay strong. “Everyone is looking for you … Your children will not rest until we are together again.”
Guthrie was last seen Saturday around 9:30 p.m. at her home in Tucson, Arizona, where she lived alone, and she was reported missing midday Sunday after she didn’t appear at a church.
Blood reportedly found at home of Savannah Guthrie’s mother as search continues
There were signs of forced entry at the home in the upscale Catalina Foothills neighborhood. Guthrie has limited mobility, and officials do not believe she left on her own.
A sheriff’s dispatcher talking to deputies during a search on Sunday indicated that she has high blood pressure, a pacemaker, and heart issues, according to audio from broadcastify.com.
For a third day, “Today” opened with Guthrie’s disappearance, but Savannah Guthrie was not at the anchor’s desk. NBC Sports said Tuesday that she will not be covering the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics “as she focuses on being with her family during this difficult time.”
