(WFRV) – The Fond du Lac woman accused of child neglect that led to a 12-year-old’s death was arraigned in court on Friday afternoon.
Court records show that 51-year-old Tina Beauprey was in court while in custody with an attorney present as she pleaded not guilty to the Class D Felony of neglecting a child resulting in death.
An attorney’s only status conference was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on April 20.
Fond du Lac woman officially charged with child neglect after 12-year-old’s death

(WFRV) – A Fond du Lac woman was officially charged nearly two months after a child that was her responsibility died.
According to a criminal complaint obtained by WFRV, 51-year-old Tina Beauprey has officially been charged with neglecting a child that resulted in death. Beauprey was responsible for the care of a 12-year-old child.

That child was brought to a hospital on December 5 and pronounced dead. The complaint said the child had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy that caused him to be wheelchair bound.
It was mentioned that the child weighed 80 pounds in September 2024. During a medical appointment in December 2024, he weighed 68 pounds, the complaint said.
His weight reportedly got all the way down to 61 pounds in August 2025.
On December 5 just after midnight, surveillance footage from the hospital showed Beauprey putting the child into a wheelchair and bringing him into the ER.
Authorities ended up speaking with hospital staff who said they noticed the child was dead. The complaint also claimed that Beauprey said the child was in a comatose state for two days.
Following an autopsy, the death was ruled a homicide and the cause of death was ‘starvation ketoacidosis. The complaint said which was caused by a prolonged lack of nutrients.
At the time of the autopsy, the child weighed 56 pounds.

Authorities spoke with Beauprey multiple times and allegedly gave conflicting statements about what happened leading up to the child’s death. She reportedly said the last time she saw the child breathing was around 6 p.m. on December 4.
She repeatedly told authorities she thought maybe the child was just tired.
The complaint also highlighted that Beauprey told them of her disdain for DHS. She reportedly said ‘It’s pretty sad that, that it takes your kid dying just to get off of, to get them outta your hair.’
Beauprey is charged with:
- Neglecting a child – consequence is death
- Felony
- Up to 25 years in prison
Court records show she was scheduled to appear in court on February 2 at 11 a.m. for her initial appearance. She previously had her cash bond set at $500,000.
