DEWEY, Wis. (WFRV) – One person was hospitalized Wednesday afternoon following a crash involving a propane truck in northwest Wisconsin.
Shortly before 1 p.m., the Burnett County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of County Road H and State Road 70 in the Town of Dewey.

A preliminary investigation indicates a pickup truck traveling north on County Road H failed to stop at the stop sign and struck a propane truck traveling east on State Road 70.
Upon impact, the propane truck caught fire and rolled onto its side. The driver became trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated before emergency medical services arrived.
The driver was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The intersection of State Road 70 and County Road H remained closed for several hours due to a propane spill, with detours in place until approximately 2:30 a.m. Thursday.
The crash remains under investigation.
