(WFRV) – She didn’t just appear on the Season 24 premiere of American Idol; she did so successfully.

26-year-old Genevieve Heyward, a Wisconsin-based musician from Lake Geneva, announced earlier in January that she’d be featured on the episode, which aired Monday, January 26.
During that episode, Heyward received the best news anybody can get during their audition, getting a thumbs up for her performance of Magic Man by Heart. Country star and judge Carrie Underwood even stood for a round of applause.
Her rendition of the song, which was the band’s first Top 10 hit in the United States, earned respect from Underwood for ‘making it her own.’

Heyward got the thumbs up from all of the judges, Underwood, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, as the trio chanted her nickname ‘Pickle Girl’ as she celebrated with the Golden Ticket, meaning she’s off to Hollywood Week.
