Genevieve Heyward, who appeared on Local 5 Live in June 2024, announced on her Facebook on New Year’s Day that she auditioned for the iconic singing competition’s 24th season.
“I’ve been laying low, trying to contain my excitement cuz I did a thing…and that thing is American Idol,” Heyward said on Facebook.
Heyward’s post mentioned it had always been a dream for her to audition, ever since she was a six-year-old.
“I’ve always wanted to audition since I was a little ambitious 6-year-old singing at home with my little karaoke machine and I finally did it,” Heyward said.
