MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in central Wisconsin say an armed and dangerous suspect is still at large after recovering a recently stolen vehicle from a lake Thursday morning.

According to a release from the City of Madison Fire Department, the department’s Lake Rescue Team responded at 6:12 a.m. to Brittingham Park for reports of a vehicle in the water.

Officials say two fully suited up divers and multiple additional members of the Lake Rescue Team in exposure suits helped to break away ice surrounding the vehicle to allow better access for recovery.
No victims were found in the incident, but the vehicle is believed to be related to an earlier carjacking outside a local hospital.

Officials report that the suspect of the carjacking is considered armed and dangerous and is still at large at this time.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing through the Madison Police Department.
