OAKFIELD, Wis. (WFRV) – Fond du Lac County officials report that no one was hurt after a fire broke out at a home Saturday afternoon.
According to a release from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, fire crews responded at 2:21 p.m. to calls of a house fire on the N3200 block of Highland Road in the Township of Oakfield.
Once on the scene, smoke was seen coming from the south side of the house, with firefighters determining the active fire to be inside the walls of the home.

Crews quickly located the fire and extinguished it, preventing the fire from spreading to the rest of the house, allowing the majority of the home to be saved. Damage from the fire was limited to just the south wall of the home.
At this time, no one was hurt in the incident and the cause of the fire is unknown, but officials say it may have been caused by a pellet heater.
