ASHLAND, Wis. (WFRV) – A man who reported a possible bomb in his own safety deposit box at a northern Wisconsin bank was arrested shortly after for terrorist threats and bomb scares.
Officers with the Ashland Police Department say they were called to the Superior Choice Credit Union just before noon on Saturday, October 18, for reports of a possible bomb.
The caller, whom officers say was the owner of the safety deposit box where the bomb was believed to be, reported the bomb, saying it was going to explode. He was identified as Cory Lavasseur.

After the building was evacuated, the Marathon County Bomb Squad provided a thorough examination and determined that no explosive device was present.
Lavasseur was taken into custody and booked into the Ashland County Jail on pending charges of terrorist threats and bomb scares.
