PULASKI, Wis. (WFRV) – October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Emplify Health by Bellin is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its mobile mammography unit as a result.
The mobile mammography unit offers road screenings in 10 communities across northeast Wisconsin, providing quicker, easier access to life-saving screenings.

The communities it serves are as follows:
- Algoma
- Bellin Health Oconto Hospital
- Brillion
- Crivitz
- Denmark
- Kewaunee
- Manitowoc
- Oconto Falls
- Pulaski
- Sturgeon Bay
According to a release, the unit has done over 50,000 screenings since it first hit the road in May 2015.
According to Bellin’s website, mammogram results are available within one business day, and images are quickly sent to Bellin Hospital for radiology results.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation’s website, via the American Cancer Society, says that early breast cancer detection is life-saving, as if it’s found in the earliest stage, the 5-year relative survival rate is about 99%.

Data also says that mammography has reduced the U.S. death rate from breast cancer by about 43% since 1990.
