GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – After fights at school in recent weeks, the Green Bay Area Public School District (GBAPSD) announced that it is enacting a stricter and more enhanced safety protocol for high schools.
The protocol is effective Monday, September 22, and includes modifications to help respond to any unsafe actions in the schools, specifically amongst high schoolers.

Students who contribute to or are directly involved in starting unsafe behaviors like fighting, assault or weapons, will immediately be removed from the school, with law enforcement likely being involved.
School-based punishments will be determined, with a minimum of a multi-day suspension, and a no-trespass requirement will be enforced for each suspension date, barring the student from being on the campus during the day or during any school activities.
If a student is enrolled in the school through intra-district transfer or an administrative placement, their status will be reviewed by district officials for potential revocation, with a plan in place to find another school nearby or an alternative setting, without a chance to reapply for either program in the future.
Students who are consistently involved in incidents like these will also be recommended for expulsion, according to a release.

- Supervised lunch in a smaller space
- Separate Advisory Period
- Attendance monitoring, with any interruptions caused by the following restarting the 5 days:
- Late arrival
- Absence
- Skipping class
- Students’ days will begin in the office
- The student will be escorted from the building after class
Local 5 will provide updates as needed.
