(WFRV) – Another summer is about to close, and a new school year is set to begin. Many parents will be hitting the stores to get back-to-school items, such as pencils, clothes, shoes, and snacks, to send their kids to school.
Taking a look at two different ways people can find the best deals, and not have to break the bank when doing their once-a-year school shopping.
“It’s exciting, back to school is so fun, and fresh, and you know you get to play with things that are new or new to you, and getting to have a seat at the table is amazing for us, so we’ve got a lot of great ways to make it easy and convenient to fill backpacks this year,” says Metro Market Corporate Affairs Manager Emilie Williamson.
After using Metro Markets’ online list, I shopped for a second-grade list, and was able to find everything quite fast and easy, and it would have only cost me around $33.
“Our team is working hard to make sure that we have everyday low prices, which is fantastic, so you not going to have to worry about when your coming shopping, whether you are the first family in line, or whether you prefer to wait for the day before, whenever shopping is right for you, we have affordable items for you,” says Williamson.

Over at the Goodwill in Menasha, they are offering families a chance to get valuable items that will be important for heading back to school.
“It’s a great resource for those going back to school because you can stay on budget. If you go to the bigger box stores and buy new, well you can come to a Goodwill NCW store, you can get those same styles and those same outfits as well that are donated gently used items that are donated by our community for a lot less,” says Goodwill NCW Public Relations Robert Dye.
A way to close the gap on prices of back-to-school items and clothes, and make sure everyone has a successful first day of school.
“It’s important for those families because if they are trying to stay on a budget, sometimes that narrows it down on what you can buy, so we try to open it back up for them, so that they can get the same styles, they can get the same colors, the same outfits,” says Dye.
Goodwill says to make sure to check which color tag day it is to make sure you are getting a discount, and Metro Market unveiled the new way to find their list on their website.
