DODGEVILLE, Wis. (WFRV) – A man from Wisconsin was arrested early Tuesday morning after allegedly leading deputies on a high-speed pursuit at over 100 miles per hour in Iowa County.
According to the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened around 5:30 a.m. when a deputy spotted a red hatchback traveling 106 mph in a 55 mph zone on State Highway 23 near Nelson Road.

The deputy initiated a traffic stop using lights and sirens, but the vehicle continued at excessive speeds before eventually pulling over near Goldmine Road.
The driver, identified as Tyson E. Rogers of Lone Rock, reportedly admitted to the high-speed driving. A records check showed Rogers is currently out on felony bail in Sauk County and is also on probation and parole. The Wisconsin Department of Corrections was contacted and confirmed a hold would be placed on him.
Rogers was arrested without further incident and taken to the Iowa County Jail. He is facing felony charges of fleeing or eluding an officer and felony bail jumping. A court date has been scheduled for August 12, 2025.
Sheriff Michael Peterson emphasized the danger posed by reckless driving, especially on rural roads shared by farm equipment.

“Operating a vehicle at nearly twice the posted speed limit is not only irresponsible but poses a significant danger to everyone on the road,” Peterson said. “At such excessive speeds, there is virtually no opportunity to react or stop safely in the event of encountering slow-moving machinery.”
The sheriff’s office said it remains committed to public safety and will continue to respond swiftly to reckless behavior on roadways.
