DELAVAN, Wis. (WFRV) – A man from Illinois and a man from Texas both drowned just hours apart from one another in a southern Wisconsin town on Saturday afternoon.
Both incidents happened on July 5, the first around 11:35 a.m. when first responders were called to the 2300 block of South Shore Drive.

Authorities arrived to find a 57-year-old man from LaGrange Park, Illinois, unresponsive on a boat. Lifesaving measures were performed, but despite the efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second incident began around 2:25 p.m. when dispatch got word of a man in the water near the Viewcrest area of Delavan Lake.
The body of a 26-year-old man from Texas was later recovered from the water after a coordinated search by multiple agencies.

The Wisconsin DNR assisted with both incidents, and the investigation into both remains active. It was noted that foul play is not suspected in either.
