NORTH FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – Multiple families were evacuated, and four dogs were rescued after high winds caused flames to spread in North Fond du Lac, damaging numerous garages and homes.
Authorities with the North Fond du Lac Police Department stated that on Friday, around 12:10 p.m., smoke and flames were reported coming from a garage on the 600 block of Illinois Avenue.
Officers arrived at the garage and found it fully engulfed in flames. Due to high winds, the fire began to spread to a garage and home to the north before spreading to properties west of the original fire, damaging two more garages.

Officers say that in total, four garages and two homes were damaged.
The release states that multiple families were evacuated and four dogs were rescued from one of the damaged homes. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the Red Cross is assisting the displaced families.
