(WFRV) – The Green Bay Packers announced they have distributed $100,000 in grants to help high schools throughout Wisconsin implement girls’ flag football intramurals and club teams.
According to a release, 20 high schools, including several in northeast Wisconsin, each received a $5,000 grant through the Packers’ Girls Flag Grant Program. In addition to the grant money, each of the 20 schools selected this year also received 20 Syzmik X7C Protective Headbands and a USA Football flag equipment starter kit.
Seeing the growth of girls flag football in Wisconsin over the last several years has been so rewarding. We’re proud to highlight girls flag as a sport in a variety of ways through our outreach efforts, creating opportunities for girls to explore their athletic abilities through flag football. We look forward to continuing to build momentum for girls flag in Wisconsin and contribute to the ultimate goal of establishing girls flag as a sanctioned high school sport in our state.
