A criminal complaint acquired by Local 5 outlines the human trafficking charge against Briar Maier of Johnson Creek, alleging the crime occurred from October 2024 through February 2025.
Human trafficking is listed as a Class C Felony with the potential for up to 40 years in prison and/or $100,000 in fines, if convicted.
The complaint alleges that a victim met Maier on Snapchat in the Fall of 2024 and that he contacted them to pick them up from a music venue in Milwaukee on October 27, 2024.
Maier stayed at the victim’s college dorm at UW-Milwaukee for multiple days, introducing them to what they initially believed to be MDMA, but it was later determined to be crack cocaine. The victim reportedly became addicted and spent $300 to buy some from Maier weekly.
According to the complaint, Maier recorded commercial sex acts from the victim to make money, keeping it; however, he also sold the photos and videos to other men, who often paid the victim.
