(WFRV) – Officials with Brown County Public Health say they are partnering with the Aging and Disability Resource Center and the Brown County Sheriff’s Office to host a Drug Take Back Day.
The Drug Take Back Day event is from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, allowing anyone to bring prescription and over-the-counter medications to one of several locations for quick, convenient disposal with no questions asked.

Unused and expired medications are said to be potentially dangerous, as if someone, children, older adults, or people with mental health or substance use issues, takes the medication by mistake, the consequences can be serious.
Officials say to regularly dispose of unneeded medications to make things safer for the whole community. The Drug Take Back Day event is a good way to easily dispose of no longer needed medications.
The following is what can and cannot be disposed at the Drug Take Back Day event:

| Creams | Anything containing blood or a bodily fluid |
| Inhalers | Household hazardous waste (paint, pesticides, oil, gas) |
| Non-aerosol sprays | Illegal drugs |
| Ointments | Iodine containing medications |
| Patches | Mercury thermometers |
| Pills | Sharps/syringes |
| Vials | Vape pens/e-cigarette devices with a built-in battery that cannot be removed |
| Liquids (In original container) | |
| Pet medications | |
| Vape pens/e-cigarette devices with the batteries removed |
