GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials with the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary say they plan to celebrate Earth Day this year with a special event.
The event is expected to have something for everyone to enjoy, including the chance to meet with animal ambassadors and coloring activities. The community will also be invited to get up close and personal with and learn about the animals in the local environment.

The sanctuary will also be selling paintings made by animals at the event, with the proceeds from those paintings going towards supporting the sanctuary’s wildlife rehab program.
Wisconsin has such a great environment. All kinds of wildlife just in our own backyard, and the more that we learn about them, the more we can care about them and take care of them. Animals need our help just like everything else. Leaving out some food, water, and when you get up close with them, it really makes a difference how you see them when you’re out in the world.

The Sanctuary’s special Earth Day event is scheduled to run from noon to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 26.
