(WFRV) – Local 5 is happy to announce that our own Millaine Wells is now a member of the Wisconsin 4-H Hall of Fame after being inducted over the weekend.
On Saturday, 12 new members were inducted into the Wisconsin 4-H Hall of Fame, including Millaine, who was honored for her journalist work here at WFRV as she shared and continues to share the story of 4-H with the viewers.
Northeast Wisconsin communities beginning to rally after week-long floods
The nomination and induction into the Wisconsin 4-H Hall of Fame highlight her achievements following two decades of reporting for Local 5, from covering countless county fairs to sharing numerous student success stories and promoting several 4-H events.
My passion for the 4-H story does not end when the cameras turn off; it grows stronger. Beyond my job, 4-H has now become deeply personal. After meeting Melinda Pollen (4-H Youth Development Educator) from Brown County, thank you for the nomination Melinda, and learning about all that 4-H has to offer, I knew that, even becoming a parent, I wanted to raise my kids in 4-H. I did not grow up in it, but I hope to start that legacy with my kids. I hope that one of them can stand up here and say, “70 years ago, my mom signed me up for something!”
Local 5’s Millaine Wells
Local 5 sends its congratulations to Millaine and two other Wisconsin 4-H Hall of Fame nominees with local northeast Wisconsin connections, volunteer Lisa Cochart from Kewaunee County and JoAnn Maedke for her work with the Fond du Lac County 4-H.
