(WFRV) – As several northeast Wisconsin communities work to bounce back after witnessing record-breaking floods, some local schools are being forced to adjust their schedules.
In Shiocton, district administration put out a letter on social media addressed to Shiocton staff and families, alerting them that schools, the Child Care Center, and the Fitness Center are all closed on Monday.
The closure comes due to water levels, travel conditions, and road closures throughout the village. The village is still looking for help battling back and cleaning up following the floods. Anyone interested in learning how to help should visit Outagamie County’s Emergency Management site.
Northeast Wisconsin communities beginning to rally after week-long floods
The Weyauwega-Fremont School District announced that school will be in session on Monday, with all classes to be temporarily held at the Weyauwega Campus. A tentative plan for the week is said to have been emailed out to all families within the school district.
District administration says they are working hard to create a plan allowing school to continue as normally as possible while also respecting what the Fremont community is currently going through. Any families who may be displaced by floods and are unable to attend school are asked to reach out to the school district, where they say they will work everyone as best as they can.
We will work with you to see how we can best support your situation. This plan is not intended to add any extra stress. Please take care of yourselves and your loved ones first and foremost.
