OMRO, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials in Winnebago County say the spillway at the Waukau Dam is working as initially designed.
According to a release from Winnebago County Parks & Sunnyview Expo Center, the Waukau Dam area has had issues with floods and washouts for years.

Officials say those issues were addressed during an improvement project last year, and while the new spillway is “definitely being tested, they add that it is so far working great.
Rising water levels in the area will continue to be monitored, with the public being reminded not to cross the spillway when water is flowing over it.
