After apologizing to the officer, the driver was issued a citation for $439.
We conduct speed enforcement to keep motorists safe and ultimately seek voluntary compliance with traffic laws. Although this example is extreme, it is not uncommon for officers to observe and stop drivers for excessive speeding. We will remain visible and continue to enforce our speed limits to keep people safe on Butler’s roads.
